Terms & Rules

All members are expected to read, understand, and abide by these terms. Membership implies full acceptance of every rule outlined below.

Effective 2026
MSK Savings Group
Powered by M-Pesa
1. Membership & Leadership Roles
Who does what in the group
Secretary Admin
  • Responsible for recruiting new members into the group
  • Registers and updates member profiles on the platform
  • Maintains accurate member records at all times
  • Communicates group announcements and agendas
Treasurer Finance
  • Responsible for keeping and accounting for all group funds
  • All transactions are recorded on this platform for transparency
  • Manages end-of-year distribution of savings
  • Ensures all payments are correctly logged in the system
Any person wishing to join must be registered by the Secretary. Self-registration is not permitted — contact the Secretary to be added.
Every member is considered active once they have paid the KES 50 registration fee and their profile is created on this platform.
2. Fees & Payment Structure
Registration, monthly contributions, and penalties
Registration Fee
KES 50
One-time · paid via M-Pesa STK Push
Monthly Contribution
KES 150
Per month · registration must be paid first
Late Payment Penalty
KES 50
Applied when a member pays a past month's contribution while already in the following month
A member may pay for any month of their choosing — simply select the desired month during payment. Advance payments for future months are allowed.
If a member misses a month and pays for it while we are already in the next month, a KES 50 late payment penalty will be charged in addition to the KES 150 contribution.
All payments are made exclusively via M-Pesa STK Push through this platform. No cash payments will be accepted or recorded.
Registration fee must be paid before a member can make any monthly contribution. Contributions from unregistered members will be rejected.
3. Transparency & Fund Monitoring
Every shilling is visible to every member
🔍
Full Financial Transparency

All collected funds — including registration fees and monthly contributions — are displayed in real time on this platform. Every member can log in and monitor the group's total savings, their own contribution history, and the payment status of all other members.

Every member can view the total savings balance, registration collections, monthly contributions, and the current month's total — all on the dashboard.
Individual contribution records are visible. You can track your own payment history and verify your contributions are correctly recorded at any time.
The platform serves as the single source of truth for all financial records. Any dispute must be raised with the Treasurer within the same month the transaction occurred.
4. End-of-Year Distribution
How savings are paid out at year end
💰
Proportional Distribution

At the end of each year, all collected funds will be distributed back to members. The amount each member receives is proportional to their total contributions — the more you contribute, the more you receive back.

Distribution is calculated based on each member's total contributions (registration fee + monthly contributions) as a share of the overall group savings pool.
The distribution date will be announced in the WhatsApp group before the end of December each year. All members must have active accounts to receive their payout.
Late payment penalties are deducted from the penalised member's share and redistributed proportionally to all compliant members as a bonus.
5. App & Notifications — Mandatory
All members must install the app and enable alerts
Install the App & Enable Notifications

When a new member makes any payment, all members are notified instantly via push notification. This keeps everyone informed and maintains the group's transparency commitment. It is therefore mandatory for every member to install this app on their phone and allow notifications.

Every member is required to install the MSK Savings Group app on their smartphone using the "Install App" button in the navigation bar.
Notifications must be enabled and kept active. Members who disable notifications may miss important payment alerts, meeting reminders, and group announcements.
Whenever any member pays — registration or monthly contribution — a real-time push notification is sent to the entire group so everyone stays informed.
When the Secretary adds a new member to the group, all subscribed devices instantly receive a New Member Alert notification — keeping the whole group informed of who has joined.
6. Weekly Group Meetings
Sunday sessions on WhatsApp
📅
Every Sunday
9:30 PM — 10:00 PM
Via WhatsApp Group · 30-minute structured discussion
Join Group
The agenda for each Sunday meeting will be shared and discussed in the WhatsApp group during the course of the week preceding the meeting.
Any registered member is permitted and encouraged to host the weekly discussion. Hosting rotates among willing members — express interest in the WhatsApp group.
Meetings are for group business only — financial updates, contribution reminders, announcements, and agenda items. Off-topic discussions should be kept brief.
Attendance at Sunday meetings is strongly encouraged. Consistent absence without notice may be flagged by the Secretary for review.
7. Member Conduct & Responsibilities
Expected behaviour from all members
Members are expected to maintain respectful and constructive communication in the WhatsApp group and during all group meetings at all times.
All financial disputes or discrepancies must be raised through the official channels — contact the Treasurer or Secretary directly. Do not spread unverified information in the group.
Members are responsible for keeping their registered phone number active. If your number changes, inform the Secretary immediately so your profile can be updated.
Any member found to be misusing the platform, submitting fraudulent payment requests, or attempting to manipulate records will be immediately removed from the group and reported to the relevant authorities.
8. Amendments & Acceptance
How rules are changed and agreed upon
These terms may be amended by a majority vote of active members during a scheduled Sunday meeting. Proposed amendments must be shared in the WhatsApp group at least one week in advance.
By registering and using this platform, every member confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms outlined on this page.
This platform is maintained by the group and all data is handled with care. Financial records exist solely for the purpose of group transparency and accountability.
